Description

Job Summary:
Postpartum Floor (PP) nursing professionals are sought for a facility in an outpatient setting. This role involves providing comprehensive postpartum and labor and delivery care, supporting maternal and newborn health, and ensuring clinical excellence in a fast-paced environment. The position is scheduled for daytime shifts, offering an opportunity to contribute to patient recovery and maternal education.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per day, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications:
    • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
    • Licensure as a Registered Nurse (in the state where care is provided)
    • One (1+) year of recent full-time experience within the last three years
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
    • Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
    • Demonstrated ability to perform electronic fetal monitoring
    • Demonstrated IV skills and ability to perform lab draws
    • Knowledge of high-risk medication administration (Magnesium, Oxytocin, Insulin)
    • Ability to perform urine point of care testing and capillary blood glucose testing
    • Knowledge of IStat testing device
    • Skills in adult cardiac monitoring, neonatal monitors including pulse oximetry and cardiac monitoring
    • Ability to perform heel sticks and venipuncture on newborns
    • Knowledge of newborn medication administration, including IV therapy and maintenance
    • Familiarity with Bili-blankets/lights, radiant warmers
    • Support maternal-newborn teaching and postpartum bladder training
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Bachelors degree in nursing or a related field
    • Minimum three (3) years of labor and delivery experience
    • Minimum three (3) years of postpartum nursing experience
    • Minimum one (1) year of medical/surgical nursing experience

Additional Information:
Candidates should be prepared to adhere to facility SOPs and demonstrate clinical competence across postpartum and labor and delivery care, including neonatal assessments and maternal education.
