Job Summary:
Postpartum Nurse (L&D Postpartum Floor) Located in an acute care healthcare facility, this role involves providing specialized nursing care to women during and after labor and delivery. The position requires delivering comprehensive maternal and newborn care, ensuring patient safety, and supporting postpartum recovery, all within a 12-hour night shift schedule.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications:
  • 1 year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience in a relevant nursing role
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Registered Nurse License (in the state where care is provided)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • Demonstrated ability to perform electronic fetal monitoring
  • Demonstrated IV Skills and ability to perform lab draws
  • Knowledge of high-risk medication administration (Magnesium, Oxytocin, Insulin)
  • Ability to perform Urine Point of Care testing
  • Knowledge of capillary blood glucose testing
  • Knowledge of IStat point of care testing devices
  • Ability to perform Adult Cardiac Monitoring
  • Knowledge of newborn monitors including pulse oximetry and cardiac monitors
  • Ability to perform heel sticks and venipuncture on newborns
  • Knowledge of newborn medications including ability to administer and maintain IV therapy
  • Knowledge of Bili-blankets, Bili-lights, and radiant warmers
  • Knowledge to support gynecology teaching and post-operative bladder training
  • Knowledge to support maternal-newborn education
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in nursing or related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years of labor and delivery experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years of postpartum nursing experience
  • Minimum of one (1) year of medical/surgical nursing experience
