Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor (MS) registered nurse position in a healthcare organization located in Hawaii. This role involves providing care to patients across various medical and surgical units, including the Medical Unit, Laulima Unit, and Cardiovascular Unit on rare occasions. The position requires flexibility to float between units, with responsibilities encompassing a range of procedures and patient care duties. The schedule consists of 12-hour night shifts, with a typical commitment of 36 hours per week following orientation.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (starting at 1845, ending at 0715), with a minimum of 36 hours per week following initial orientation.
• Required Qualifications: Must hold Hawaii State licensure by start date; no prior experience is required. Candidate must have BLS certification; ACLS preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC certifications are advantageous.
• Additional Information:
  • Must arrive the Thursday before the start date to attend employee health appointment on Friday.
  • Orientation time is provided for each unit.
  • Frequent floating to other units/departments including Medical, Laulima, and occasionally Cardiovascular.
  • Equipment used includes Meditech electronic medical record system, Pyxis medication dispensing, wound vacs, and chest tubes.
  • Nurse to patient ratio varies by unit: Medical - 1:6 during days and evenings, 1:8 at night; Laulima - 1:6; Cardiovascular - 1:4.
  • Professional nursing attire with clean scrubs is required.
