Description

Job Summary:
Operating Room Open Heart (OR OH) nurse position available in a healthcare setting. The role involves supporting cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery cases, including complex procedures such as CABG, valve surgeries, ECMO, lung resections, and endovascular interventions. The assignment begins in late October or early November and involves onboarding at a designated location before transferring to the main medical center. This position requires experienced clinicians with a strong background in cardiac, thoracic, or vascular surgeries.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting from 10/19/2026 through 01/18/2027.
  • Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (AHA); minimum of 2 years of experience in OR Open Heart surgical settings. Experience in cardiac, thoracic, or vascular surgery is essential. No new travelers or clinicians with less experience are accepted.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Prior travel experience is highly valued.
  • Float: Float: Float rotation may be required.
  • Additional Information:
    • The unit handles complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases including robotic and open procedures.
    • Clinicians will initially onboard at a nearby facility for at least one week before transfer.
    • Mandatory call is required, with one night per week and one weekend per month, with a response time of 30 minutes.
    • Hospital provides surgical scrubs (ceil blue).
    • May need to float within other services of the main facility during the assignment period.
    • No charting system or license submission is required for this role.
    • This contract is open for 13 weeks or longer with options for direct hire or permanent placement.
