Job Summary:
Risk Management Specialist, Risk Management This position is located at a healthcare facility and involves developing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive risk management program. The role requires monitoring compliance, investigating events, and providing education to improve safety and minimize liability within the organization.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree in a health-related field preferred; RN license in New Mexico or a compact license required; claims management or risk management certification preferred. In lieu of RN license, 3-5 years of claims or risk management experience in an acute care setting is necessary. A minimum of 3 years of experience as an RN or combined nursing and claims/risk management experience required. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to perform effectively in a high-stress environment.
- Additional Information: The role includes designing and coordinating risk programs, reviewing policies, investigating incidents, and providing staff education on risk management practices. Engagement with external organizations and active participation in committees and work teams are essential responsibilities.
