Description
Job Summary:
The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) registered nurse position is located in the area. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care in a 15-bed unit that includes 3 step-down ICU beds and 12 telemetry beds. The position requires delivering primary nursing care, telemetry monitoring, strip reading, and fingerstick blood sugar testing. The assignment offers a rotating shift schedule, with a standard workweek of 36 hours following orientation, and does not guarantee additional hours or call duties.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Rotating shift, 8 hours per shift, 40 hours per week minimum
- Required Qualifications: Valid Hawaii nursing license; at least 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year; Progressive Care Unit and telemetry experience preferred; current PALS and NIHSS certifications preferred; ACLS preferred
- Preferred Qualifications: Telemetry monitoring skills; experience with BIPAP, cardiac monitoring, and Meditech charting preferred
- Float: Float: Float rotation may be required to all acute units in house, including Medical, Surgical/Pediatric, ICU, and Emergency departments
- Additional Information: Must arrive the Thursday before start date to attend employee health appointment on Friday. Candidates unable to meet this requirement should not accept the start date.
