Job Summary:
Certified Operating Room Technician (ORT CERT) in the acute care setting. This role involves supporting a surgical unit with comprehensive knowledge of procedures across various specialties, including urology, general, orthopedic, gynecology, spine, robotic, ENT, and endoscopy. The technician must be capable of scrub independently with minimal instructions after onboarding, ensuring safety and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with call rotation for evenings and weekends (minimum of 5 shifts within 30 days)
• Required Qualifications: Certification as a Certified Operating Room Technician, BLS Certification, CRCST, and a minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile technique and familiarity with surgical instruments and equipment
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience working independently in the scrub role, proficiency with electronic charting systems such as EPIC
• Float: Float rotation may be required to other units/departments, including endoscopy, GI Suites, or other surgical units
• Additional Information: Support involves surgical instrument setup, equipment use, and maintaining safety standards in a high-volume surgical environment. Initial onboarding includes placement with a preceptor for 2-3 days. The facility utilizes EPIC charting systems, and the shift requires adherence to AORN guidelines involving surgical attire.
