Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) registered nurse position located at an acute care facility in Wichita, Kansas. This role involves providing specialized critical care to trauma, post-cardiac surgery, and post-procedure patients in a 26-bed ICU setting. The ICU team is comprised of highly experienced staff operating with advanced equipment, and the position requires delivering quality patient care during day shifts.

Job Details:

• Shift Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of current hospital ICU experience, with certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior travel experience to large trauma facilities and certification in Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) are preferred.
• Additional Information: The unit cares for trauma patients, post-cardiac surgery, and general ICU post-surgical patients. Procedures performed include chest tube placement, central line placement, and medication drips. The team utilizes advanced equipment such as balloon pumps, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), hypothermia protocols, and electronic fetal heart monitoring. The unit fosters a driven, organized, and efficient work environment with a positive and engaged team.
