Job Summary:
ORT (Operating Room Technician) Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician position located at the facility. This role involves assisting in the preparation and handling of surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment during general surgical procedures. It requires working closely with the surgical team to ensure patient safety, comfort, and efficient operation of the surgical environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Dayshift, 8 hours per shift, minimum 40 hours per week
• Certifications, Education, and Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent required; minimum 1 year surgical technologist experience; previous experience in Neuro (Spine and Brain) OR Ortho (Total Joints); BLS certification from AHA required or must become certified within one month of start date
• Required Skills & Experience: Patient transport, patient preparation, surgical instrument handling, supply management, equipment maintenance, infection control, safety standards adherence, cost-consciousness
• Additional Skills: Room cleanliness, confidentiality maintenance, emergent situation response, pre-operative patient support, surgical technologist experience
• Responsibilities include scrubbing on general surgical procedures, preparing operating rooms, ensuring proper functioning of instruments, assisting with patient transfers, and maintaining a safe and sterile environment. The role may involve training/precepting new employees and participating in departmental quality assurance programs.
• The candidate must be able to lift and move patients, work in environments with exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous gases, and stand or walk for prolonged periods.
• The start date is 10/03/2026, with the end date of 01/03/2027. No minimum experience beyond the required 1 year is specified.
