Description
Job Summary
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse in a hospital's Labor and Delivery Department. This position involves caring for patients with intrauterine pregnancy, pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, and water births. The role includes working in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating ratios following American Womens Health Nurses Organization (AWHONN) staffing standards, and performing responsibilities related to obstetric and neonatal care.
Job Details
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, from 09/28/2026 to 12/28/2026.
- Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); at least 2 years of clinical experience as a registered nurse; valid nursing license submitted at application.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with intrauterine pregnancy, pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, water births, and titration of drips such as Pitocin, magnesium, insulin, and antihypertensives. Knowledge of EPIC charting system.
- Additional Information: Candidates must pass a skills-based open book exam during orientation with a score of 90% or higher; a valid drivers license is required for verification of radius restrictions; artificial nails are prohibited on patient care units; candidates may voluntarily float to other hospital departments or campuses, including OB floors. RTO requests of 7 or fewer days are permitted upfront; additional RTO will not be approved. Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.
- Certification & Compliance: All candidates must follow hospital policies and guidelines, including those set by AWHONN for staffing ratios and care standards.
