Description
Job Summary:
Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (CCL) specialist working in a hospital setting will perform intra-procedural circulating duties, including supplies, medication administration, and sedation. The position requires at least three years of experience in hospital-based cardiac catheterization or interventional radiology within a high-volume lab environment. The role involves working in a versatile, primarily interventional radiology (IR) lab with the capacity to treat up to ST-elevation myocardial infarctions (STEMIs) and stabilize patients using intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) devices. It is located in a facility that primarily performs IR procedures with inpatient cardiac add-ons, and the position features collaborative, on-call responsibilities.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 8-hour days plus call, with a minimum of 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Current licensure required; Certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS). A minimum of three years' experience in a hospital-based cardiac catheterization or interventional radiology setting.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with EPIC and Apollo cardiac charting systems. Previous involvement in a dynamic IR environment with experience in handling ST-elevation myocardial infarctions (STEMIs) and cardiovascular stabilization.
- Department Notes: The lab primarily conducts interventional radiology procedures with inpatient cardiac service add-ons. Candidate must be versatile and prepared to respond to emergency cases.
- Additional Information: Candidates must adhere to the hospitals fingernail policy, which prohibits artificial nails in patient care areas. The position involves daily floating and on-call duties, with a requirement to respond within 30 minutes from designated hospital locations.
- Shift & Orientation: Orientation period of 1 week, including on-call buddy system. The supervisor approves all schedules, which are not self-scheduled.
