Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse Nights Location unspecified. This position involves providing high-acuity clinical care in a demanding ER setting. The ideal candidate will demonstrate independence in nursing practice, handle complex cases such as strokes, cardiovascular events, diabetes, wounds, behavioral health, and sepsis, and manage a varied patient load with professionalism and expertise.

Job Details

• Schedule: Nights, 7:00 PM 7:00 AM, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, current RN license in the state of employment or a compact license, BLS certification via AHA, ACLS certification via AHA, PALS certification via AHA, TNCC certification, De-Escalation certification, minimum of 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a high-acuity emergency setting
• Responsibilities:
  • Practice independently following applicable nursing scope and standards of practice
  • Provide routine and complex nursing care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patients
  • Administer medications and treatments using appropriate protocols, monitor for side effects and treatment efficacy
  • Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care delivered accurately
  • Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers
  • Make appropriate clinical assignments and delegation to other care providers as needed
• Position Requirements:
  • Attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire; participate in residency or specific orientation programs as applicable
  • Complete annual competency verification requirements and skill validations with designated preceptors
  • Successfully complete required organizational entry and department-specific competency validations
• Additional Information:
  • The unit serves very high-acuity patients with a heavy case load involving strokes, cardiovascular issues, diabetes, wounds, behavioral health, and sepsis; some trauma cases are seen but it is not a designated trauma unit.
  • Security is on-site 24/7.
  • Multiple positions available, with a potential for permanent placement.
