Description

Job Summary:
Lactation Specialist in the healthcare setting. This role involves providing support and education to new mothers on breastfeeding techniques, infant feeding, and related postpartum care. The position requires collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to promote maternal and infant health in a busy clinical environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: CA Registered Nurse License, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), minimum 1 year of experience in post-partum or lactation support, and a valid California RN license in hand.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Not specified.
  • Additional Information: The candidate must have experience with baby-friendly protocols, breast engorgement management, breastfeeding instructions, breast milk collection and storage, cesarean section postpartum care, discharge teaching to parents, infant identification, isolation precautions and personal protective equipment (PPE), multiple births, postpartum hemorrhage, pregnancy-induced hypertension, use of electric/manual breast pumps, vaginal delivery support, and IBCLC certification. The role involves supporting neonates, adolescents, infants, and adults, with an expected daily census of 23 patients, approximately 8 visits per day, and a total of 24 rooms with 21 beds. Orientation is 24 hours, and the start date is October 27, 2026, with an end date of January 26, 2027. Candidates must have recent experience and meet all certification requirements as outlined.
