Job Summary
The ICU Cardiovascular (ICU OH) specialization in Madison, WI, is seeking an experienced registered nurse to join a dynamic team providing specialized care for cardiothoracic surgery, heart and lung transplant, and cardiac medical patients. This role involves delivering high-quality ICU-level care in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on intricate cardiac procedures and devices, such as extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and Ventricular Assist Devices (LVAD/RVAD).

Job Details

• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, Wisconsin or compact registered nurse license.
• Education Requirements: Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Location Requirements: Candidates within 50 miles of the facility; local candidates not accepted.
• Years of Experience: 2 years of recent acute care experience in ICU or cardiovascular specialty.
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, with every other weekend rotation and some holidays, no call.
• Required Qualifications: Experience and knowledge of NextStage Continuous Veno-Venous Hemodiafiltration (CVVH) machine, telemetry testing, and advanced cardiac rhythm recognition.
• Additional Information: Candidates must pass a telemetry test and adhere to strict pass/fail criteria with up to two attempts. Candidates must have inpatient RN experience in acute care within the last three years. Travelers should be prepared to float as needed.
• Responsibilities include managing arterial lines, chest tube care, ventilator support, cardiac monitoring, and managing complex medical devices like Impella, IABP, and ECMO. The role requires proficiency in charting systems such as Epic and experience with interdisciplinary support teams.
