Job Summary:

Observation Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) Nights Deaconess Midtown. This position entails providing specialized nursing care on a 23-bed unit within a hospital setting. The role involves utilizing critical assessment skills, managing post-surgical and cardiac patients, and ensuring patient safety through adherence to clinical protocols. The assignment is scheduled to start on 10/05/2026 and conclude on 01/03/2027.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour Night shifts, from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Current active compact license; AHA BLS certification; NIHSS certification; at least two years of strong Med/Surg experience and one travel assignment; recent electronic health record experience; excellent assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in cardiac catheter recovery (femoral/TR bands), post-surgical care (appy, chole, stones), NIHSS/Neuro assessment/dysphagia screening, initiation/titration of drips (Heparin, Insulin), indwelling drain management, straight cath/foley care, NG tube insertion, blood administration/documentation.
• Float: Float to other campuses or within the same campus based on skillset; cross-campus float possible with a two-hour notice.
• Additional Information: No specific on-call/call back duties. Three weekends out of every six-week schedule and every other holiday are required. No Covid-19 vaccine requirement at this time.
• Experience: Two years of Med/Surg nursing and travel assignment experience preferred.
• Certifications: Must have current active compact license, AHA BLS, and NIHSS certification.
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts with a minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 10/05/2026 and ending on 01/03/2027.
