Job Summary:
Medical Surgical (MS) Registered Nurse (RN) Nights located at a healthcare facility in the area. This position involves providing care for a diverse patient population on a medical-surgical floor, focusing on post-surgical, UTI, sepsis, high fall risk, COPD, and CHF patients. The role requires the ability to perform advanced assessments, utilize critical thinking skills, and manage a variety of clinical procedures during night shifts.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 10/05/2026 and ending on 01/03/2027.
• Required Qualifications: Current active compact nursing license; AHA BLS certification; NIHSS certification; minimum of 2 years of strong Medical-Surgical experience, including one travel assignment; recent EPIC charting experience (must complete checkoff class).
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with chest tubes, NG/PEG tubes, straight cath/Foleys, ostomies, Heparin drips, blood/blood product administration, tracheostomy care, PCA management; trauma level II experience.
• Float: Float within skill set; cross-campus float to Newburgh (IN) and Henderson (KY) campuses may be required with a 2-hour notice; mid-shift float within the same campus is possible.
• On Call/Call Back: Not required.
• Weekend/Holiday Rotation: Three weekends out of every six-week schedule; every other holiday.
• Charting Experience: Recent EPIC system experience required.
• Patient Population: Post-surgical, UTI, sepsis, high fall risk, COPD, CHF.
• Unit Information: 41 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:4-5 during day shifts and 1:6-7 during night shifts; experienced leadership and CNA support.
• Additional Information: Role may involve precepting students and new hires; no competing healthcare system or agency logos on scrubs; up to three call-ins may result in termination.
