Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor (MS) registered nurse in an urban healthcare setting. This position involves providing comprehensive patient care on a 23-bed unit with a focus on cardiac, neurologic, post-surgical, and general medical conditions. The role requires strong assessment and critical thinking skills, with bedside responsibilities during 12-hour day shifts.

Job Details:

• Location: Midtown, start date 10/05/2026, end date 01/03/2027
• Schedule: 12-hour days from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Current active compact license; AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications; two years of strong Medical-Surgical nursing experience; recent EPIC charting experience; minimum of 0 years of experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: N/A
• Float: First to float within skill set to Deaconess Newburgh (IN) campus and potential to float to Deaconess Henderson (KY); cross-campus float with 2-hour notice; mid-shift float within same campus.
• Additional Information:
  • Contract length of 13 weeks
  • Guaranteed hours per week, with potential for 48 hours upon request
  • No local candidates; 40-mile radius rule applies
  • No COVID-19 vaccination required (subject to change)
  • Must adhere to scrubs policy: navy blue scrubs, no hoodies or sweatshirts, and no competing logos
  • May require precepting of students and new hires
  • Three weekends per six-week schedule and every other holiday required
  • No guarantee of GSA hours during orientation week owing to holiday closure
