Description
Job Summary
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse position in Sarasota. This role involves providing specialized obstetrical care within a busy hospital unit, supporting high-risk pregnancies, medication infusions such as Pitocin and Magnesium Sulfate, and performing patient assessments. The ideal candidate will thrive in a patient-centered environment with a strong teamwork spirit and be capable of managing a high volume of deliveries and obstetric emergencies.
Job Details
- Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, experience with high-risk obstetrics including medication infusions (Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate), proficiency in starting IVs, completion of phlebotomy, ability to perform 12-lead EKGs, and transporting patients. Preferred candidates are team players with a strong work ethic, dependable, and capable of functioning independently within a supportive unit culture.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in labor and delivery with neonatal and obstetric emergencies, familiarity with unit-specific procedures, and capability to work effectively in a remote telehealth environment.
- Additional Information: The obstetric unit emphasizes supportive teamwork and patient-centered care. Leadership support is available during both day and night shifts. The selected candidate will participate in delivering specialized obstetrical services in a leading regional medical center offering comprehensive maternal and neonatal care.
