Description

Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) position located in a healthcare facility. This role involves providing holistic, patient-centered care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum. It requires working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety, comfort, and positive outcomes during this critical period.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12 H/Days shift with a minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: CA Registered Nurse (RN) license; CPR, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and AWHONN Electronic Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM) certifications; at least three years recent RN experience in nursing; at least two years recent RN experience in a specialty area; knowledge of therapeutic care, patient care, care planning, nursing process, patient assessment, care coordination, documentation, educational planning, adult learning theory, quality outcomes, patient advocacy, socio-cultural analysis, interdisciplinary collaboration, and delegation.

  • Additional Information: The RN will assess the needs of patients and families, develop and implement individualized care plans, evaluate patient responses, educate patients and families, and serve as an advocate. Delegation and coordination with the healthcare team are vital components. The position is focused on providing safe, therapeutic, and culturally sensitive care in a labor and delivery setting, with an emphasis on quality outcomes and patient safety.
