Description

Job Summary:
Sterile Processing Technician in a healthcare organization. This role involves identifying and utilizing appropriate sterilization methods and solutions to decontaminate instruments and clinical equipment. The technician is responsible for preparing, sterilizing, storing, and disbursing medical supplies while ensuring compliance with safety and sterilization protocols.

Job Details:

Schedule: 08:00 AM to 04:00 PM, minimum of 40 hours per week, starting 10/12/2026 and ending 01/09/2027
Required Qualifications: High School Education or GED; successful completion of Medical Terminology course or passing of CCH Medical Terminology challenge exam; either successful completion of Anatomy & Physiology course (High School level or higher) or successful passage of CCH Anatomy Exam; SPD Technician Certification; 1 year recent (within the past 5 years) SPD experience; ability to read, write, and communicate in English; basic computer skills; good interpersonal skills; ability to stand on call; successful passing of SPD Technician Certification exam
Additional Information: This position requires the ability to operate and understand sterilizers (steam, ethylene oxide, Sterrad, Steris I), cart washers, washer/disinfectors, ultrasonic cleaners, heat sealers, and testing devices. The role includes selecting appropriate sterilization methods, documenting sterilization processes, and ensuring instruments are protected, wrapped, and properly stored. The candidate must perform duties independently with proficiency in sterile supply handling and maintaining a clean work environment.
