Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor Nurse Wausau, WI. This position involves providing comprehensive care to adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced post-surgical unit. The role requires adaptability to rotating day/night shifts, with a focus on teamwork and patient acuity management to support recovery and continuum of care.

Job Details

• Schedule: 12-hour day/night rotating shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, with start date on 10/05/2026 and end date on 01/02/2027.
• Required Qualifications: WI RN License, BLS from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross, 2+ years of Medical Surgical experience, recent hospital experience, trauma level II experience, Epic charting proficiency, and experience with Epic EMR, Rovers for medication scanning, and Alaris pumps.
• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree.
• Float: Float to all inpatient units may be required.
• Additional Information: The unit has a 40-bed inpatient capacity, with a patient ratio of 1:4 or 1:5 during daylight shifts and 1:5 to 1:7 at night. It handles 10-15 admissions daily with an occupancy rate of 90-95%. The RN must be capable of multitasking and prioritizing patient needs based on acuity, working efficiently as part of a team. During flu season, any candidate who declines flu and COVID vaccinations is required to wear a mask at all times, per facility policy.
