Description

Job Summary:
Gastroenterology Laboratory (Gastroenterology Laboratory) Nurse specializing in endoscopy procedures is sought for a short-term travel assignment. The position offers day shifts, typically starting at 6:30 a.m., with a schedule that includes Monday through Friday work, with weekends covered by call rotation. The role involves supporting outpatient and inpatient procedures within the unit, requiring strong clinical skills and adherence to safety standards.

Job Details:

  • Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: Valid BLS (American Heart Association) certification, ACLS certification, minimum 2 years of Endoscopy Nurse experience, and strong IV skills. No minimum experience in years is specified for this position.
  • Schedule: Days, 10-hour shifts, 40 hours per week, typically from 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Call Requirements: Weekday call begins at the end of the scheduled shift and runs until 7:00 a.m. the following morning. Weekdays with no scheduled cases or overstaffed may require float to preoperative areas. Call commitments include approximately 3-4 times per week, with 24-hour weekend and holiday call blocks.
  • Additional Information: The unit utilizes EPIC and Provation electronic medical records systems. Approximately 10-20 procedures are performed daily, consisting of 75% outpatient and 25% inpatient cases. Nurses assist with pre-op, intra-op (with timeout and documentation), and post-op activities. Scrubs in maroon are provided.
  • Shift Hours: 8 hours per day, primarily from 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
