Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse located in a vibrant healthcare facility. This position involves providing urgent and emergent care to a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatrics. The ER nurse will be responsible for delivering high-quality, efficient patient care in a fast-paced environment, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and safety standards.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Shift hours are 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. The assignment begins on 10/05/2026 and concludes on 11/28/2026.
• Required Qualifications: Valid emergency nursing certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC). Two (2) years of recent Emergency Room (ER) experience are required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Certifications such as Critical Care Transport Nurse (TCRN), Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), and experience with EPIC electronic medical record system are preferred.
• Skills: Proficiency in IV starts, assisting with chest tube insertions, medication titration (pressors, insulin, sedation), trauma, and stroke care with TPA administration. US-guided IV placement skills are a plus.
• Patient Ratios: Typically 1 RN to 4-6 patients, flexing to 6 at night, with full staffing ratios of 1:3 during peak times.
• Support on the Unit: Day shift is supported by 5-7 ED Techs; overnight coverage includes 3 techs. The charge nurse may have a patient assignment overnight. Phlebotomy support is available for lab draws beyond initial blood cultures.
• Technology/Equipment: EMR system is EPIC; IV pumps are Alaris; medication dispensing via Pxy; and ranger massive transfusion capability. RT, MDs, mid-level providers, and hospitalists are available 24/7. Centralized telemetry monitors are present throughout the unit.
• Orientation: Day 1 includes a hospital and unit orientation. Days 2-3 involve preceptor-guided training on 12-hour shifts.
• Other Notes: RN scrub color: Navy Blue. Parking is free. No on-call required; weekend rotation every other week; shifts include day (7a-7p), mid (3p-3a), and night (7p-7a). The schedule cycle is created for six weeks, allowing for self-scheduling.
