Description
Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit Neurological (ICU Neuro) position located in the area. This role involves caring for patients with neurological conditions including stroke, brain hemorrhages, tumors, and increased intracranial pressure. The position requires technical skills such as passing an electrocardiogram (ECG) exam on day two and managing titratable drips. It is designed for professionals with a minimum of 0 years of experience who are prepared to work in a fast-paced neurocritical care environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Evening shift, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. The shift expectations include working every other weekend and being the first to float to Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit (MSICU), Progressive Care Critical Care Unit (PCCU), and caring for boarders.
- Required Qualifications: Valid healthcare certification(s), relevant degree in healthcare, and must pass ECG exam on day 2. 0 years of experience required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage, intracranial pressure management, and ventilator management.
- Additional Information:
- Bed ratio: 1 nurse to 2 patients.
- Nursing staff includes two clinical technicians for 16 patients.
- Equipment used includes mechanical ventilators, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), and noninvasive ventilation (BiPAP/CPAP).
- RNs are required to read their own strips.
- Holiday coverage includes one major and one minor holiday per year.
- Scrubs are navy blue.
- Shift expectations include potential on-call responsibilities not specified.
- Epic electronic health record system access is needed.
- The position runs from 09/28/2026 to 12/27/2026.
