Job Summary:
Neuro Surgical Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in neurology applications. This position is located in a healthcare organization and involves providing specialized nursing care to neuro and neuro-surgical patients. It includes night shifts with a focus on assessment, critical thinking, and patient management within a 37-bed unit.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of strong neuro experience, at least one travel assignment, trauma level II experience, current active compact license, AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), and NIHSS certification. Recent Electronic Patient Record (EHR) experience required, specifically with EPIC.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with neuro assessments such as NIHSS, dysphagia screening, tele-interpretation, strict I & Os, catheterization, heparin titration, blood product administration, blood cultures, NG tubes, drain management, and medication management such as Protonix and Lasix. Strong assessment and critical thinking skills are essential.
• Additional Information: The unit has 37 beds with staffing ratios of 1:5-6 during days and 1:5-7 during nights. Floating to other nearby campuses may be required with short notice. Candidates must be resilient, adaptable, and able to manage change effectively. This role may involve precepting students and new hires, with no Covid-19 vaccine requirement currently.
