Description
Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) nurse position at a healthcare facility located in Colorado. The role involves performing surgical circulator duties and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) responsibilities in a fast-paced surgical environment. The selected candidate will work primarily days, with additional call coverage required to include Fridays and weekends, averaging 7-12 days per month.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Day shift, Monday through Thursday, from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with call coverage to include Fridays and weekends, totaling approximately 10 hours per shift. Minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Associate degree required with a Bachelors degree preferred. Current state Registered Nurse (RN) licensure within Colorado; compact license accepted, and Colorado license must be obtained within 90 days of hire. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 6 months of hire (may be obtained at the facility if needed). Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire. Successful completion of Electronic Fetal Heart Monitor (EFM) course within 4 months of hire.
- Additional Responsibilities: Administer nursing care in accordance with standards and policies. Maintain knowledge of telemetry monitoring and arrhythmia interpretation. Supervise non-professional staff, assist physicians, and ensure timely execution of medical orders. Document patient care accurately and utilize technology for documentation. Participate in departmental meetings, educational programs, and safety protocols. Respond to patient needs, adjust care plans as necessary, and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in trauma, colonoscopy, and Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD). Prior inpatient or intensive care unit experience preferred for ICU applicants. Fetal monitoring certification for Family Birthing Center candidates.
- Additional Unit Specific Duties: May include roles in Intensive Care Unit, Family Birthing, Procedural Sedation, Antepartum, Intrapartum, Postpartum Care, Rapid Sequence Intubation, Fetal Monitoring, Advanced Cardiac Monitoring, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and other specialized procedures as applicable.
- Work Environment & Physical Demands: Exposure to infectious waste, chemicals, and environmental factors such as heat, cold, and noise. Physical exertion may involve lifting up to 100 lbs, and movement including kneeling, crouching, and reaching. Good communication skills in English are required; additional languages are a plus.
