Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor Nurse located in the area of the healthcare provider's facility. This role involves delivering comprehensive patient care in a Medical Surgical (MS) specialty unit, with a focus on post-operative management for patients undergoing hip, knee, mastectomies, and abdominal surgeries. The position supports floating across multiple campuses to meet operational needs and requires adherence to hospital protocols and safety standards.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 48 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: 24 months of current Medical Surgical (MS) or Medical Surgical/Telemetry experience in a hospital or medical center setting; skills specific to Medical Surgical or Medical Surgical/Telemetry required; active Iowa or multistate license at the time of submission; BLS (AHA) certification; drivers license; EPIC Electronic Medical Record experience; proficient in post-operative care including hip/knee, mastectomies, abdominal surgeries, PCA, and Heparin drips; 1st time traveler welcome.
• Preferred Qualifications: Post-op surgical experience with medical-surgical patient care preferred; prior experience in patient care for orthopedic or oncological surgical patients advantageous.
• Additional Information: The unit has a patient ratio of approximately 1:4-5, with a bed size of 30. Must work 1-2 of the upcoming summer holidays unless the unit is closed. The facility has an emotional support canine present during shifts. The traveler will be required to float across various campuses including Iowa Methodist, Iowa Lutheran.
• Submission Requirements: Candidates must have a complete employment history reflecting 24 months of recent MS/Medical Surgical experience, with skills aligned to the discipline, and current professional references within the last 24 months.
