Description

Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) position in a hospital or health system setting. This role involves performing independent nursing functions and delegated medical tasks in accordance with accepted standards as defined by the state Board of Nursing. The RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care, provides health teaching and counseling, and supports life and well-being through therapeutic interventions. The position requires flexibility to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications, as well as potential on-call duties during scheduled shifts.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications:
    • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing (ASN or Bachelors degree preferred).
    • Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
    • BLS certification from the American Heart Association (additional certifications such as ACLS, NRP, PALS as appropriate for the unit or service are preferred).
    • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Previous experience as a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery.
    • Certification relevant to the unit or service.
  • Additional Information:
    • The role involves executing delegated medical functions, referring patients for further evaluation or treatment, monitoring therapy plans, and documentation in compliance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
    • The RN will utilize resources effectively and aim to promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
    • May require floating to other departments based on business needs and being placed on-call during scheduled shifts.
