Description

Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU OH) in a dedicated cardiac surgical intensive care unit. This role involves providing specialized post-operative care to patients recovering from cardiac surgery, cardiac transplantation, lung transplantation, ventricular assist device placement, and other complex procedures. The position is located at a healthcare facility with a focus on high-acuity cardiac patient management.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Night shifts; 12 hours per shift; 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: RN License; BLS; current experience with recovery of post-op cardiac surgery patients in an intensive care unit setting, including Ventilator management, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), Swan-Ganz catheter placement, Epicardial wires and pacemakers, vasoactive medication titration, Level 1 Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), and Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO).
  • Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); Critical Care Certification; trauma course; Electronic Medical Record (Epic) proficiency.
  • Additional Information: The unit is an 18-bed facility providing specialized care for complex cardiac patients. Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:1 or 1:2. Orientation begins on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month. Candidates must have previous experience in a dedicated open-heart unit managing post-operative cardiac patients and be compliant with the organizations staffing policies.
  • Previous Employment Verification: If the candidate has previously worked for any facility within the health system, this must be noted in the work history to verify rehire eligibility. Candidates must be gone for at least one year before reapplying as a traveler.
