Job Summary
The Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) Nurse is responsible for providing specialized patient care within a 64-bed unit that includes 15 designated neuro beds. This role involves managing adult patients with complex medical conditions such as neuro, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory issues, including COPD, DKA, sepsis, MI, and postoperative care. The position requires collaborative team participation and adherence to clinical protocols to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Job Details

• Position Description: IMCU RN
• Shift: Nights, from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 48 hours per week.
• Qualifications:
  • Current active New York RN license and all RN licenses
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications
  • Up-to-date resume demonstrating 2+ years of experience in IMCU/Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and documenting travel experience
  • Driver's license matching demographics
  • EMR experience required: EPIC
• Responsibilities:
  • Provide advanced patient care for adults in a fast-paced environment with complex medical needs
  • Use specialty equipment including temporary pacers, chest tubes, arterial lines, Bipap, and Neptune Vapo systems
  • Assist with chronic vents, with respiratory therapy support for ventilation management
  • Ensure compliance with clinical protocols and documentation standards
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with neuro, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory diagnostics and treatments
  • Ability to adapt to float requirements as assigned
• Additional Information:
  • Float: Float rotation may be required
