Description
Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Department Registered Nurse (RN) position located in an acute care setting. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients during labor and delivery, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and professional nursing standards. The RN will provide direct patient care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to positive patient outcomes throughout the maternity care process.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shift times, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN license in the state of practice, BLS certification, 0 years of experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred, experience in labor and delivery or maternal nursing desired
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in nursing, professional certification related to obstetric or maternal nursing preferred
- Additional Information: The RN will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing care plans, providing labor support, monitoring fetal and maternal status, and documenting care activities appropriately. The role emphasizes evidence-based practice, patient education, and safety protocols within the maternity unit. The position may involve collaboration for discharge planning and patient teaching related to labor and postpartum care.
