Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nursing position is located in a facility that provides Level II trauma care, primary stroke certification, and a 91-bed capacity. This role involves managing complex critical patients, including ventilated and long-term vented patients, with a focus on advanced ICU skills within a busy hospital environment. The position offers evening shifts, with scheduled rotations in a fast-paced and collaborative ICU setting.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Evening shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. The schedule follows a 6-week cycle.
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification, 2 years ICU experience, and EPIC electronic medical record experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification, experience with abdominal pressure monitoring, external ventricular drain (EVD), Continuous Veno-Venous Hemofiltration (CVVH), and Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP).
• Support within the Department: Charge RN typically manages patient assignments; 1-2 CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) per shift; bedside and centralized telemonitoring; hospitalists, intensivists, RT (Respiratory Therapist) staff available 24/7; OT/PT/ST services during daytime.
• Technology/Equipment: EMR system EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) is required; monitors and unit-specific equipment provided; IV pumps, medication dispensing systems.
• Orientation: Two-day orientation, including pre-arrival setup and on-unit training with a preceptor.
• Floating: Ability to float within hospital scope, including MedSurg and Telemetry units if needed, with a 1:4 patient ratio when floating to MedSurg/Tele units.
• Additional Notes: Scrub color is any solid, professional color; parking is free in designated areas; no on-call requirements; one holiday per contract.
