Description
Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor registered nurse (RN) position available in a Level III Trauma Center located in Milwaukee, WI. The role involves providing high-acuity care to adult patients with various medical and surgical conditions, including ventilator management, wound care, and post-op recovery. The candidate will work night shifts on a 12-hour schedule from 10/19/2026 to 01/16/2027, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: RN license, BLS certification, at least 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience, ventilator experience, charge nurse experience, experience with wound care, surgical/post-operative care, IV start skills, wound vacs, PEG tubes, tube feedings, TPN, trach care, telemetry proficiency, and Epic electronic health record system familiarity
- Preferred Qualifications: Support on the unit includes charge nurse duties, 24/7 unit secretary, hospitalist, RT, telemetry monitoring, phlebotomy, and central line tech support
- Additional Information: Orientation includes Epic system training, badge access, login credentials, a 12-hour orientation with the charge nurse, and a 3-hour vent class with an additional 12-hour vent-only orientation. The unit features a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with a collaborative and communicative team. Scrub color is flexible. Responsibilities include documenting pain levels before and after medication administration and working in a highly interactive team setting. The facility maintains a holiday rotation of one holiday per contract and adheres to a fatigue policy limiting work hours to 60 per week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts. No on-call duties are required.
