Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nurse Manager position is available in a Level II trauma center located in Bangor, ME. This role involves overseeing patient care for cardiac, medical, post-operative, and trauma patients, including those requiring ventilator support, neuro checks, and wound care. The assignment begins on 10/20/2026 and is scheduled through 01/16/2027, with a schedule of 12-hour night shifts and a minimum of 36 hours per week.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Intermediate or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) level of care experience, at least 1 year; BLS and ACLS certifications; NIHSS certification preferred; valid license to practice as a registered nurse; COVID-19 and influenza vaccination required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with trached patients on vents, stroke patient management, neuro checks every 2 hours, trauma patient care, chest tubes, wound vacs, Bipap, and cardiac rhythm interpretation.
• Additional Information: The candidate should be comfortable caring for post-craniotomy patients, ventilated patients, and trauma scenarios. Knowledge of managing insulin drips, IV starts, and support for a clinical team is required. The assignment includes participation in a weekend rotation and possible time off requests up to 7 days, with holiday scheduling as needed. Float rotation may include assignments in ED, ICU, and CCU departments.
