Job Summary

Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse position is based at a high-volume, high-acuity facility with a diverse patient population, including high-risk obstetric patients. This role involves providing specialized care for women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods, following established clinical protocols and safety procedures.

Job Details

• Location: Not specified
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week, days only shift
• Assignment Length: 13 or 26 weeks (traveler's choice)
• Certifications Required: BLS (Basic Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Experience Needed: At least 2 years of high-acuity obstetric care experience, including magnesium sulfate therapy, Pitocin (oxytocin), Foley catheter management, postpartum hemorrhage, and vaginal delivery procedures; experience with EPIC electronic health record system is mandatory
• Additional Qualifications: Valid compact state license in hand at submission; previous charge experience preferred; ability to handle a high census surge and manage a 4-couplet workload; flexibility to work 3 out of 5 holidays as scheduled
• Patient Ratios: Not specified; patient census averages 45 daily with diverse obstetric patients
• Float Requirements: Possible floating between nearby sister facilities for assigned shifts
• Special Procedures/Unit Details: High-risk obstetric care, postpartum and postpartum hemorrhage management, substance withdrawal care, and interventions such as magnesium sulfate and Pitocin administration are routine
• Additional Notes: Flu vaccine status unknown; COVID-19 vaccination not required; references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years; must include responses to specific screening questions regarding prior employment at Providence facilities and experience
