Description
Job Summary
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse in a level high-risk healthcare facility. This position supports high volume, high acuity obstetric services, including managing diverse patient cases during delivery and postpartum care. The role involves functioning as a Baby Nurse during delivery and providing continued newborn care until transfer to postpartum.
Job Details
- Certifications: Preferred: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate; Required: BLS, NRP
- Education Requirements: 1 Year Experience, valid State License (compact license in hand at submission)
- Location Requirements: Not specified; must have a valid license in the applicable state
- Years of Experience: 1 year minimum experience required
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 48 hours per week
- Additional Qualifications: EPIC electronic fetal monitoring experience; high risk obstetric experience; ability to work in fast-paced, high acuity environments including assist with high risk deliveries, perform newborn assessments, and provide postpartum care.
- Responsibilities include circulating during C-sections, assisting with vaginal deliveries, providing neonatal care including eyes, thighs, assessments, and administering injections such as Vit K and eye prophylaxis.
- Float: Float rotation may be required, including coverage in Postpartum and Antepartum units, with occasional help in NICU or other nearby units.
- Submission requirements: Must include responses to prior work at Providence facilities, references covering 1 year within the past 3 years, and confirmation of experience with EPIC and high risk obstetric care.
