Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Nurse in a high-risk, high-volume maternity unit. This position involves providing specialized care during delivery and continuing postpartum care for newborns until transfer to postpartum. The role requires experience in electronic fetal monitoring and high-risk obstetrics to support a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Job Details

• Certifications: Required: BLS, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); Preferred: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
• Education and Experience: 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery; active compact license; high risk obstetrics experience required
• Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 48 hours per week
• Additional Qualifications: Must have high risk obstetrics experience, ability to work in fast-paced, high acuity environments, EPIC electronic fetal monitoring experience valued, adherence to AWHONN guidelines for staffing
• Responsibilities: Function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery, provide newborn care including assessments, eye care, Vit K injections, and initial assessments; circulate during delivery, manage maternal and neonatal therapies, monitor fetal heart patterns, assist with high-risk/high-volume deliveries, support postpartum care, and float to related units as needed
• Additional Information: Must be able to provide care for high-risk obstetrics patients, assist with vaginal and Cesarean deliveries, and utilize sterile techniques during exams and procedures. Experience with high-risk deliveries, assisting with high-risk patients, and neonatal care is essential.
