Description

Job Summary:
The Surgical Technician / Operating Room Technician (ORT) position is located in an operating room environment where the candidate will function as a surgical first or second assistant for complex and basic invasive procedures. The role involves assisting with various surgeries, including robotic and general procedures, and may include performing responsibilities of a Surgical Technologist when required. The position supports multiple site locations, primarily working in high-acuity surgical settings with a focus on patient safety and procedural efficiency.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or equivalent, BLS certification, 0 years of experience, and valid licensure where applicable.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with robotic-assisted surgeries, specifically with the DaVinci XI surgical system, and familiarity with general and OB surgical procedures.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required across multiple facilities including Pleasant Prairie, Racine, and Mount Pleasant, depending on case needs.
  • Additional Information: The candidate will assist with C-Sections in the obstetrics setting and be available for on-call shifts. Training on the DaVinci XI robotic system will be provided. Orientation includes at least one shift to learn departmental flow. The OR operates resource hours from 07:15 to 17:00 for four rooms and until 19:00 for two rooms, with after-hours coverage by the call team. The position involves support for charge nurses, MDs on call, and unit staff, with charting completed via EPIC and Alaris systems. Scrub color will be hospital-provided, and parking is free.
