Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nurse in Alexandria. This position supports the adult inpatient division at a general healthcare facility. The role involves floating across inpatient units based on staffing needs, providing high-quality patient care for a diverse patient population.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 10/12/2026 and ending on 01/02/2027.
• Required Qualifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification, National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification, 1+ year of recent PCU/Progressive Care experience, strong neuro assessment and cardiac monitoring skills, the ability to independently interpret telemetry strips, experience with Cardizem, amiodarone, and heparin drips, EPIC electronic health record experience, meeting required ECG/telemetry competency, and meeting hospital onboarding and unit-based orientation requirements.
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior travel experience is preferred.
• Floating: Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: This position involves supporting inpatient units with diagnoses such as stroke evaluation, chest pain, arrhythmias, heart failure, sepsis, respiratory failure, AKI, GI bleeding, altered mental status, postoperative care, and other medical/PCU diagnoses. Travelers should be comfortable with CPAP, high-flow oxygen, telemetry monitoring, ECGs, and escalation of rhythm or clinical changes. Flexibility is required to meet division staffing needs, including weekend and holiday coverage. Orientation involves hospital onboarding and unit-based training across applicable inpatient areas.
