Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Open Heart nurse in a short-term acute care facility. This role involves responding to cardiac emergencies, working in a sterile environment, and performing specialized cardiac procedures. The position requires flexibility to float between units and facilities, with on-call responsibilities, weekend shifts, and the ability to work a 12-hour shift schedule. Located in the region served, this assignment offers an opportunity to enhance cardiovascular nursing expertise.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Day shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting 10/12/2026 and ending 01/04/2027.
• Required Qualifications: Valid state license (compact license preferred), at least 1 year of experience as a registered nurse, previous orthopedics or OR experience, and experience in cardiac monitoring and cardiovascular surgical procedures.
• Preferred Qualifications: Strong scrub experience in cardiac surgeries, prior experience in open heart procedures, and familiarity with Epic charting system.
• Float: Float rotation may be required to cover different units or facilities based on skill set needs.
• Additional Information: Candidates must have at least 2 years of nursing experience, hold current BLS certification, and demonstrate the ability to respond to cardiac emergencies effectively. Candidates must be prepared to work weekends (including Saturday 0600-Monday 0600 once per month) and different holidays as needed. Must have reliable transportation for this assignment. The role involves responding to cardiac emergencies, scrub and circulator duties, and exposure to specialized cardiac equipment.
