Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) nurse position in a healthcare facility situated in a locale where local candidates are preferred. The role involves working day shifts with a focus on providing perioperative care across various specialties, including general, orthopedic, obstetrics and gynecology, urology, podiatry, and cardiology. The position requires participation in call rotations and immediate response for STAT cases, supporting a busy surgical unit with an average of nine cases daily.
Job Details
- Schedule: 8-hour shifts starting between 5:45 AM and 9:00 AM, with a minimum of 40 hours per week. The shift concludes between 1:45 PM and 5:00 PM plus call responsibilities.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA); clinical experience of at least 2 years working in operating room settings with expertise in general, orthopedic, obstetrics and gynecology, urology, podiatry, and cardiology procedures; experience with Pre-surgery, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PATT), and Scrubbing duties; licensed to practice as a registered nurse (RN).
- Call Requirements: Participation in rotating call schedule, covering weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Weekday call runs from 2:30 PM to 6:30 AM; weekend call from 2:30 PM on Friday to 6:30 AM Monday. Must respond within 30 minutes for STAT cases.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- OR Environment: The nurse will work in an acute care setting, participating in unit-specific orientation for one week. Scrubs are provided by the hospital, and all clinicians must clock in and out at the facility.
- Additional Information: Clinicians must have completed previous employment with this healthcare provider at least six months prior to the current application if they have worked previously.
