Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) nurse position in a healthcare facility. The role involves assessing and responding to the physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of patients through personal observation and interaction. The OR nurse acts as a patient advocate and utilizes professional nursing skills and judgment to implement nursing care. The position requires effective communication of patient assessments, knowledge of diagnostic measures such as labs, radiology, electrocardiogram (EKG), and proficiency in intravenous (IV) therapy. The OR nurse is responsible for transcribing physicians' orders accurately, admitting patients efficiently, documenting in clinical records, and ensuring all procedural requirements are met. Additional responsibilities include patient education, supply management, and assisting with housekeeping duties. When assigned to the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), the nurse assesses and provides appropriate nursing care, monitors patient status, manages airway, and collaborates with physicians. The role may also involve working in pain management and eye laser procedure rooms, assisting with nerve blocks, and emergency medication management. Participation in meetings and compliance with policies are expected.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, current CPR certification, knowledge of surgical procedures, IV therapy skills, and a minimum of one year of nursing experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in operating room nursing, certification in perioperative nursing (CNOR) or related specialty.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: Candidates will be expected to assist with surgical procedures, recognize patient needs in PACU, maintain emergency supplies, and participate in team meetings. Flexibility to work in various procedural rooms and support functions within the surgical services is necessary.
