Job Summary
The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in an advanced pediatric care setting. The role involves providing specialized nursing care to neonates, infants, and adolescents requiring intensive monitoring and treatment. The position offers clinical opportunities in a dynamic environment, with float between units as needed to meet patient care demands.

Job Details

Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications: Valid state license with a compact license in hand at submission, at least 1 year of pediatric intensive care experience, BLS and PALS certifications, proficiency in assisting/manage intubation, ventilator management, PICC line management, interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs) and dysrhythmias, and experience with pediatric patient care including post-cardiac surgery, ventricular drain care, and external ventricular drain (EVD) management.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with electronic medical records, trauma level II certification, and previous experience floating between units.
Float: Float rotation may be required, with the possibility of floating between pediatric medical/surgical and neonatal ICU units.
Additional Information: The unit cares for neonates, infants, children, and adolescents with a daily census of approximately 15 patients. Support services include respiratory therapy, physical therapy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. The assignment requires working three out of five holidays, with specific scheduling requests to be made during submittal.
