Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse in a Level II NICU setting. This position involves providing care for postpartum and well-baby patients, including handling deliveries and managing neonatal conditions such as TTN, RDS, hyperbilirubinemia, and hypoglycemia. The role requires collaboration with the healthcare team to deliver high-quality neonatal care on a night shift basis.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights, from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Weekend shifts are included, rotating on a 6-week schedule.
• Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (American Heart Association), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and STABLE (Stable Neonatal Transport Program) certifications. Minimum of 2 years of neonatal intensive care experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with postpartum and well-baby care, familiarity with NICU protocols and patient diagnoses such as TTN, RDS, hyperbilirubinemia, and hypoglycemia. Ability to attend deliveries and manage couplet care up to a 1:3 ratio per American Association of Womens Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) standards.
• Additional Information:
  • The unit includes nurse aides as part of the team.
  • The Neonatologist is available 24/7, with Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NNPs) on-site continuously and telehealth support for neonatology.
  • Equipment such as vents, BiPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula (HHFNC) is available.
  • The role involves mandatory call and standby shifts, with turn-taking arrangements.
  • Floating to assist other departments is required per hospital policy, including assisting at a family birth center and in other units as needed.
  • The unit uses EPIC for charting, with no BSN requirement.
  • Licensing to work in the state is required prior to start.
  • Staffing involves charge nurse responsibilities, with the charge nurse taking an assignment.
  • This position begins on 10/12/2026 and concludes on 01/11/2027.
