Description
Job Summary:
Operating Room (First Assistant) specialist position in a healthcare facility located in the region. The role involves providing surgical assistance within the operating room setting, supporting various types of cases including general, orthopedic, neuroscience, robotics, spine, urology, and ENT procedures. The position offers a dynamic environment for experienced professionals seeking a comprehensive assignment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, starting at 6:30 a.m., with call responsibilities. Total call hours estimated at approximately 120 hours per contract, scheduled by the clinician within the weekday and weekend options.
- Required Qualifications: Valid BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA), Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with general, neuro, and robotics cases is highly desirable.
- Float: Float: Float rotation may be required within Zone 1, including PEN, SFH, SFI, SMC, and STMS.
- Additional Information: Clinicians must be prepared for a week of orientation prior to assignment commencement. The facility allows self-scheduling for call and shift coverage, with a requirement of approximately 36 hours minimum per week. A weekend shift is required every 6 weeks. The unit employs EPIC for charting and supports a scrubs dress code.
