Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor (MS) Registered Nurse (RN) position in a large acute care facility. This role involves providing care on a 128-bed Medical Surgical unit with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:6. The assignment includes working days with floating across various Med/Surg pods, primarily focusing on surgical services such as colorectal, hepatobiliary, bariatric, general, and orthopedic surgeries, as well as managing common medical conditions including diabetes, heart disease, COPD, kidney, and gastrointestinal issues. The position offers a transition to the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system in November 2026.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC), at least 2 years of relevant medical-surgical nursing experience, and overall minimum of 0 years of experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Large hospital experience, strong clinical skills in medical-surgical nursing, ability to troubleshoot remote telemonitoring equipment, and familiarity with Cerner charting system.
• Responsibilities: Providing direct patient care, managing common diagnoses, troubleshooting bedside equipment (excluding respiratory devices), and collaborating with charge nurses and patient care techs.
• Certifications: BLS (AHA or ARC) required
• Additional Information: No telemonitoring duties beyond troubleshooting; respiratory support available separately; nurses may be required to take on charge nurse responsibilities.
• Schedule policies: Staff are assigned to need areas; floating to Medical/Surgical pods is required.

• End date: 01/04/2027
