Job Summary
The Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician (ORT) is based in the healthcare organization. This position involves supporting adult surgical cases across various specialties, with responsibilities including equipment management and assisting during procedures. The role requires flexibility to support multiple units and shifts, including on-call duties and weekend shifts.
Job Details
- Location: Not specified; the position involves float between units within the organization.
- Certifications and Education Requirements: Certification as a surgical technologist or military-trained; BLS and NBSTSA certifications required.
- Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience preferred, with at least 1 year required.
- Schedule: Evening shift from 11:00 am to 9:30 pm, with 12-hour shifts and minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Responsibilities: Support adult acute care operating rooms with specialties including Oncology, Orthopedics, ENT, Gynecology, Urology, Vascular, Thoracic, and Endovascular. Must be able to handle a broad range of surgical equipment, including the Da Vinci Surgical System.
- Travel Requirements: Travel experience required; candidates should be prepared for call shifts including weekday and weekend standby.
- Additional Notes: Candidates may be required to float between nearby facilities, and flexibility for holiday work is needed. Candidates must include specific scheduling and time-off requests during application submission.
