Job Summary
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) registered nurse position in an Idaho Falls healthcare facility. This role involves providing specialized care for critically ill neonates in a Level 3 NICU setting, with a focus on supporting infants post-surgery, managing ventilations, and caring for infants with complex needs. The assignment involves night shifts over a 12-week duration, starting on October 5, 2026, and ending on January 4, 2027.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid credentials as a registered nurse, certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Stable (STABLE) certification. Ability to care for central lines and change fluids daily. Experience in caring for infants with noninvasive ventilation such as BCPAP and NAVA, and post-surgery care for infants with ostomies and Broviac catheters.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with invasive ventilation and procedures such as chest tube insertion and central line placement.
• Additional Information: The unit is a 26-bed Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with 48 staff members. Equipment used includes oscillator, Drager ventilators, NAVA, BCPAP, HHNC, and therapeutic hypothermia devices. Charting is managed through Isoprime (Neonatal Notes Manager), with lab results and orders processed via Meditech. Staffing includes one charge nurse and 6-7 RNs per shift. The unit operates on a schedule requiring four weekend shifts within a 4-week cycle. No on-call responsibilities are assigned. The role emphasizes excellent communication with parents and a team-oriented approach. Dress code is navy blue scrubs. Policies include adherence to "bare below the elbows" and weekend work requirements.
