Description
Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical Floor. This full-time night-shift position provides routine and complex nursing care in a medical-surgical setting, including assessment, treatment administration, patient education, documentation, and care coordination. The position requires clinical judgment, independent practice, and collaboration with other care providers.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights, 7:00 PM7:00 AM; 12-hour shifts; 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA); registered nurse license in the state of employment or a compact license.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend.
- On-Call Requirement: No call.
- Patient Assignment: Nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1 or 6:1.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Responsibilities: Provide nursing care using the nursing process; administer medications and treatments according to appropriate protocols; monitor treatment effectiveness and side effects; document patient histories, symptoms, medications, and care provided; assess learning needs; educate patients, families, and caregivers; and address patients psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs.
