Description

Job Summary:
Wound Care Nursing Specialist for a healthcare organization in an acute care setting. This role involves conducting comprehensive health assessments focused on wound, ostomy, and continence care. The position requires developing personalized care plans, evaluating treatment responses, and collaborating with the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes. The role also includes providing patient, family, and staff education, participating in quality improvement activities, and ensuring compliance with confidentiality policies.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 7.5 hours per day, with a minimum of 37.5 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Associates Degree (ASN, ADN) from an accredited Nursing Program; New York State RN License; Primary Source Verification of License and Registration from NYS Department of Education; AHA BLS certification; current certification in one of the following: Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN), Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON), Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN), Certified Wound Specialist (CWS), or Wound Care Certified Certification (WCC).
  • Preferred Qualifications: None specified.
  • Additional Information: The role involves assessing and documenting patient response to complex wounds, developing and evaluating standards of care, and contributing to unit/department quality improvement initiatives. The specialist will also assist in staff education, manage community resources, and oversee asset management related to rented equipment.
